Cowboy Church
is another one of God's
creations in progress.
With progress comes
the Word, a lot of work, volunteers, growth,
devotion, blessings and much more. Many
questions come to us daily as to what our
Cowboy Church is and what it consists of.
These are very important questions and
concerns that we would like to address to
each of you. For your convenience, we have
created a small clip of some of the
highlights at Cowboy Church of LaFayette Ga.

Thanks for taking time to read what God is
doing at Cowboy Church.
Mother's Day 2004, we stepped out believing
that God gave us a vision to start a Cowboy Church
in Lafayette, Ga. My wife, Sandy and I called
about 20 friends and family members and asked them
if we had lost our minds or did they think that this
whole idea would work. They all agreed that it must
be God. We set up a tent 10'x10' outside Joe
Williams' Barn. With about 50 chairs donated, we
started to prepare for church. Jim "Buck" Jones
headed our music up which most say is one of the
most awesome parts of Cowboy Church. He had lead
music for years in other churches and is very
gifted. We do a lot of Country gospel, bluegrass and
older songs. We do not have a full time Preacher because
we felt the Lord wanted to use this Church to allow
preachers that did not have a home church a
place to minister. This was definitely different
from any church we had ever heard of but we had to
follow God's lead. We were a little concerned
how we would find these ministries but God took care
of business. We made a few calls to people we knew
and now we have a waiting list of people willing to
come and minister at Cowboy Church here in LaFayette.
We made a list of people that we worked with
in the horse business, family and friends and we
told them the plan for our first service on Mother's
Day 2004. At the first service we had 105
people. Praise the Lord! That was definitely
confirmation to us that we were lined up with God's
Plan for this community. The attendance averaged
about 60 for the first month and then began to rise.
Now close to 4 years later, our attendance averages
300 - 500 every Sunday morning.

| God has changed a lot of lives for the better,
delivered some from addictions of all sorts, brought
families back together and saved so many. I could
write all day and still not be able to tell you the
entire story of what He has done here at Cowboy
Church. All He asks of us is to be available and He
will do the rest and we are looking forward to
seeing God reveal his plan for us for our future.
We have moved to 92 acres of God
given property. We look forward to being part of this new
direction for Cowboy Church and will continue the vision that God has
given us for Cowboy Church.

Outreach

Our outreach
program is very horse related.
We have roping twice weekly from beginners
to advanced, rodeo bible school for the kids in the summer
months, a drill team that performs for
rodeos etc, team penning, trail classes,
horse shows, rodeo team (above) and more. There is
always something going on here at Cowboy
Church. Just drop by any day of the
week and you'll probably find someone here
or something going on. We had an
Awesome Year in 2007 and expect even greater
things in 2008. You don't want to miss any of it. We feel God is fully in
control of what is going on at Cowboy
Church, we take no credit. He is using us to
fulfill His plans and we are Thankful.

David didn't know his picture was being taken and it
was obvious that his welcome was sincere!!!
|
| We have mounted greeters at the gate and
another team of special greeters as you come inside.
The barn is huge and so is the view. It’s a piece of
heaven on earth. We have a huge arena we
use for special events which we want to eventually
cover. We have plenty of seats and sawdust
floors. We have coffee, hot chocolate and donuts
every Sunday morning for you to enjoy before our
service starts. We have different ministries every
week. Our praise team is awesome and
they specialize in Country Gospel music. We
roll up the tarps in the spring and the breeze blows
through. We leave
the tarps down in the winter and we all
stay cozy and warm. Everywhere you sit there is a
view. It just doesn't get any better then
that!!
Now I’ve said
all of that just to say this:
Come see what God gives us to offer you at Cowboy
Church! You don’t have to own a horse or even wear a
hat. We have people from all walks of life, even
Harley Riders. Dress comfortable and come
enjoy the awesome presence of God. If you've
never felt God's presence before, then you're in for
a treat. God is definitely in this place and
we are so blessed to be able to feel that presence.
We take no credit for what God is doing here at
Cowboy Church. but we will continue to obey him in
whatever direction he leads us. If you’ve ever
wanted to just be loved and welcomed
JUST AS YOU ARE, come
visit us! We would love to meet and get to know you.
